Duck in Debt – Version 1.0.8 Update (New Levels, Skins, Mastery System and More)
Hello everyone👋,
My name is Yuri Masuda Zoncada, and I am the creator of “Duck in debt” 🦆💸, a mobile game available on Google Play. I am also the founder of the creative project Akapaaka, which I created and currently develop entirely by myself.
On February 28, 2026, I released one of the biggest updates for the game so far: version 1.0.8.
This update introduced many new mechanics, systems, levels, and customization options that significantly expanded the gameplay experience.
Since today is March 7, 2026, the update has already been live for a few days, and players have started exploring all the new features that were added.
New Levels 🌌
One of the most important additions in version 1.0.8 was the introduction of multiple playable environments.
The current levels in the game are:
-Sunny Sky
-Night
-Sunset
-Night City
-Jungle
-Fields
-Space
Each level has its own atmosphere and gameplay style.
Players unlock these levels progressively by unlocking new ducks, creating a natural sense of progression as the game evolves.
Level Mastery System🎖️
Another major addition introduced in the 1.0.8 update is the Level Mastery system.
Each level now has its own mastery progression based on the player's score:
-100 Score = 1 Star
-200 Score = 2 Stars
-300+ Score = 3 Stars
This system encourages players to improve their performance and master each environment.
Duck Mastery System🎖️
Version 1.0.8 also introduced a Duck Mastery system.
Every time a player earns 1 score point, the duck being used gains 1 mastery point.
The mastery levels are divided into ranks:
0 – 99 : Bronze
100 – 499 : Silver
500 – 999 : Gold
1000 – 1499 : Diamond
1500+ : Amethyst
This system rewards players who spend more time mastering specific ducks and encourages long-term progression.
New Mobs (Enemies) 😈
To make each level feel unique and more dynamic, I added new mobs (enemies) that interact with the player and create obstacles during gameplay.
Each level has its own mob designed to disturb or challenge the player:
Airplane – Sunny Sky
Bats – Night
Dolphins – Sunset
Grey Girl – Night City
Jungle Monster – Jungle
Rabbit Tower – Fields
UFO – Space
These mobs are not only obstacles but also part of the identity of each environment.
Power-Ups and Power-Downs 🎭
Version 1.0.8 also introduced new gameplay modifiers that can appear during the game.
Power-Up:
-Shield
-Golden Garlic
Power-Downs:
-Syringe
-Rotten Onion
These elements add unpredictability and make every run slightly different from the previous one.
New Skins 🤠
Customization was also expanded with the addition of nine new skins.
Along with these, two new Legendary skins were introduced.
Interestingly, the original legendary skins were reclassified as hidden skins, since they have a special way of being unlocked that differs from normal skins.
Achievements Update🎖️
The achievement system was also expanded and updated to reflect the new mechanics introduced in the 1.0.8 update, including progression systems, mastery mechanics, and gameplay milestones.
Joystick Improvements 🎮
A new joystick system was also added.
Players can now choose between 2 different joystick styles directly from the settings, allowing them to select the control system that feels more comfortable and responsive for them.
This change was introduced to improve movement precision and overall gameplay feel.
Balance Changes ⚖️
Several balance adjustments were made to improve the gameplay experience and keep the game fair and engaging.
These changes affected various gameplay elements and were made based on testing and early feedback.
Bug Fixes… and New Bugs 🐛
Like many large updates, version 1.0.8 fixed several bugs and technical issues present in earlier versions of the game.
However, because of the large amount of new content added in this update, some new bugs also appeared.
These issues are already being worked on and will be addressed in the upcoming version 1.0.9, which will be released soon.
A Solo Development Project 🤷♂️
It is important for me to mention that Duck in Debt is entirely developed by a single person: myself, Yuri Masuda Zoncada.
The game is part of my creative project Akapaaka, which I created to experiment with different creative ideas and projects, including games, art, music and other forms of creativity.
Developing a game alone is challenging, but updates like 1.0.8 represent an important step forward in expanding the world of Duck in Debt.
Despite my inexperience as a developer, I believe I managed to turn Duck in Debt into a fairly fun and content-filled game, especially when compared to the very first versions. In the early stages of development the game was almost empty and lacked clear goals in many aspects, but over time I kept improving it step by step, adding mechanics, progression systems, and new content to make the experience more engaging for players.
The Future of Duck in Debt 🦆💸🌍
This update was only the beginning of a new phase for the game.
With version 1.0.9 already in development, I plan to continue improving gameplay, fixing bugs, and expanding the content further.
